Parents should be more like sneakers
Mine worn and black
But they'd never hold me back
Mine are dirty and grey
But the laces ensure they'll always stay
They help me as I run
With every step I hear them cheering "Son!"
And yesterday I realized
My parents lose me more than I lose my shoes
So how can people tell me to look up to my parents and look down on my sneakers?
Mine are old and torn
But their words never make me question why I was born
Mine are cheap and flimsy
But they'll never lose their grip on me
And they'll never give up on me
